Maths

This week in math I forgot what a hectare is, so I learnt, and a hectare is 10,000 square metres. Then I learnt how to work out a trains average speed by converting kilometres in minutes to kilometres per hours, that is all I learnt this week for math.

English

For English I learnt about the Three Sisters legend which is different to one that I have read, where I had to read it, and write a narrative about the story, like what the twist to the ending was, which was that the Three Sisters and Tyawan ( the dad ) couldn’t return to their original form. What was the resolution, purpose, title, orientation and complication. Then I read about Van Diemen’s land which was Tasmania’s first name it ever had, then I had to answer questions about the text,  about times lines and purposes of the island.

I also learnt about clauses; a main clause is the part of a sentence that makes sense by itself, and a subordinate clause is the part of a sentence that doesn’t make sense by itself, it gives extra information.

Health

In health my lesson was about keeping on trying, if you are bad at something you might quit doing it, if you keep on going and keep practising you will follow your goal or even dream, I won discus in little athletics because nearly every day I would go to the park with my dad to practise my discus, and from trying hard and practising technique properly I got my reward.

I also did a lesson about friendships where I had to brainstorm a map of what I thought good friendships are, what makes a good one is sharing, being nice, not using violence, helping them when they need help and caring for them. Friends are good to talk to, spend life with and have fun with.

Geography

This week for geography I learnt about the Empire State building and had to make a report about it, the Empire State building has 102 floors and started getting made in 1930, it was finished in 1931 to host corporate business offices. Its antenna gets struck by lightning 25 times a year. The Empire State building was the most uber visited place in the whole world.

P.E.

At breakdancing I learnt the second part of the twisty and that is all I learnt for breakdancing.

For Bounce I nearly got to the top of the blue wall by wall running, it is the second lowest wall.

This week I went climbing and showed lots of people my magic tricks and worked on my website in between climbs.

I also went to surf club for club champions, I missed sprint but did flags, swim and boards, I then did my first ever Iron man, which is where you swim out to a green can, across to another green can, then back to shore, where you grab a board and paddle out to the green can around a red bouy called an apex, and around the other green can, back to shore then sprint to the finish, I came second last out of 5-8 people that competed, luckily in iron man you don’t have any points, it is an exersise testing your durability.

Handwriting

For handwriting I had to practise writing the alphabet in cursive over and over.

Science

Lastly for science I started working on a way of creating free energy by using magnets and fan motors.
